All students must have medical insurance coverage while studying in Canada. US students qualify for BC Medical once they have resided in BC for three months. Click here to obtain a copy of the BC Medical Insurance application.
You must have medical insurance prior to arrival in Canada and it must cover you for the three-month waiting period. Insurance can be purchased from a private insurance company from the U.S. or from Intercon Insurance Services, which has an agreement with VFS to offer discounted rates to our students. Intercon Insurance student coverage can be used for injury or sickness requiring Emergency Hospital confinement or Emergency Treatment for up to CDN$1,000,000.00. - You must be a student of foreign nationality.
- You must be enrolled in and attending a recognized institution of learning (Vancouver Film School).
- You must not be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
- CDN$1.64 per day per person.
Using these rates, international students in our full time 48-week programs can expect to pay up to a maximum of 598.60 CDN, depending on the length of insurance you request.
