You must be a VFS student in order to apply for the VFS-UFV Pathway. Confirmation of graduation will be needed in order to finalize admissions under the UFV-VFS Block Transfer Agreements. Applications are accepted for entrance to the Fall, and Winter semesters for all programs, and Summer semesters for the BA and BGS only. For application deadlines, see Specific intake application process.

October 1
Fall intake opens for following September. International students must apply by April 1. Domestic applications will be accepted into May.

May 1

October 1
Summer intake opens for the following May. Please note, not all programs have a summer intake. International students must apply by February 1. Domestic applications will be accepted into February.

Letters of acceptance cannot be issued by UFV until the intake for which you are applying has opened and you have applied. UFV commits to initial review of international applications within a maximum of 10 business days. If all required academic documents are uploaded with the application, a conditional admit could be emailed to the student within approximately 2-3 weeks. Because domestic applicants do not upload documents with their applications, the timing of their conditional admit will depend on when their official Vancouver Film School transcript is received.

This conditional admit letter will list the tuition fee deposit required, the official documents/transcripts required by a certain deadline, or other relevant completion requirements to be admitted to a semester. Once the fee deposit is paid and the official interim transcript is received from VFS, UFV can issue the LOA which does reflect the pathway partnership and duration of degree completion (2 years).

UFV provides this once the initial admissions request is received. All students who apply to UFV are given a UFV student number and an email address. Conditional acceptance is communicated through the UFV email system and can be shared with external bodies. If further information is needed, this can be acquired through the Office of the Registrar.

Students who graduated in 2016 or 2017 are eligible to enter UFV under the established pathways. Students who graduated from VFS prior to 2016 would be reviewed on an individual basis.
