Andrew McIlroy


Andrew is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, and one of Canada's most highly respected acting instructors. He was the co-artistic director of the full-time program at Vancouver's Gastown Actors Studio, and is one of the most popular adjudicators requested by Theatre BC for festivals and workshops. He has taught as a faculty member at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC, and is currently an instructor with Leap Studios (Platform Vancouver), and Studio 3 Media.

Andrew is sought by producers, casting directors, and talent agents as a coach for actors in both film and television. Andrew has worked with actors from Glee, 90210, Dexter, Fairly Legal, Flashpoint, Melrose Place, Supernatural, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, LOST, Caprica, Weeds, Shark Night 3D, Final Destination 2 and 3, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, Desperate Housewives, I Am Number Four, I Love You Beth Cooper, War of the Worlds, Red Riding Hood, The Killing, and the upcoming SPACE series PRIMEVAL: New World.

Some of Andrew's acting credits include recurring and guest roles on Health Nutz, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, Psych, Supernatural, The Chris Isaak Show, Terminal City, Blade: The Series, The L Word, and Out Of Order. In Fall 2011, Andrew played David in True Love Lies at The Cultch in Vancouver, produced by Touchstone Theatre Productions.

As a theatre director, Andrew has been nominated for a Jesse Richardson Award for his work on Poster Boys. He also created the original production of the international hit, Sexy Laundry.

Recent directorial productions include A Christmas Carol and Sexy Laundry for the Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, On the Edge for The Belfry Theatre in Victoria, and Henry & Alice: Into the Wild for the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver.
