Senior Instructor

Kyle Norby

When Kyle was a child, his time spent indoors was usually with a sketchbook, cartoons, and a giant crate filled with Lego. Influenced by his childhood, he eventually developed a passion for animation and 3D graphics after discovering the immersive realm of motion graphic design. Teaching himself how to create webpages and music videos in high school, he bought his first car from freelancing with word-of-mouth clients. After eventually obtaining a BAS in Motion Graphics, he pursued his career in the industry as an animator, utilizing Adobe After Effects, Maxon Cinema 4D, and a slew of other programs for several years. Influenced by mentors from Pixar, he refined his animation techniques enough to start a part-time job teaching at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts located in Emeryville, California. He came to realize his second true passion of teaching and the fulfillment of helping other artists reach their potential. He recently and enthusiastically became a member of the Vancouver Film School team as a Senior Instructor in Digital Design.
