Kai has been a Technical Director at his own Vancouver-based boutique, Lucent Dreams Animation, for several years, working on commercials, films, and even Broadway productions. Recently he worked with MAXON Computer as the Technical Support Manager to aid in high-end, studio-level technical support and training for Cinema 4D. Kai has also served as a MAXON beta tester and demonstration artist for nine years and is considered an expert on Cinema 4D.

Along with his industry experience, Kai has also focused a lot of his time on education. He taught Adobe After Effects and Premiere for NAIT and Guru Digital Arts, and has been certified as a Master Instructor for Digital Instruction. While working for MAXON, Kai taught Cinema 4D master classes at Siggraph and NAB, acted as a key instructor for the online video training site Cineversity, and even co-hosted a bi-weekly live video webcast, Cineversity Live!

Kai is a graduate of the VFS Classical Animation program and has returned to the school to educate and inspire. He hopes to utilize his VFS student experience to provide guidance and support as students take their first big steps into the digital design industry. He loves nothing more than to help people tell their stories.
