Scholarship Opportunities for Aspiring BC Actors


Vancouver Film School is proud to announce up to $30,000 in scholarship funding to be awarded in April 2019 in partnership with the ABCDE. A select ABCDE/VFS Committee will vet applications from prospective students in BC for enrollment into the 2019/2020 school year for either the Acting for Film & Television or Acting Essentials programs.

Scholarship Breakdown

  • One Full Tuition Award for the Acting Essentials Program ($7,500 value)
  • One $10,000 award for the Acting for Film & Television Program (12 month program)
  • Two $3,000 awards for the Acting Essentials Program
  • Two $3,000 awards for the Acting for Film & Television Program (12 month program)

Scholarship Details

  • Opening on November 1, 2018 and closing on February 15, 2019.
  • Applications will be open for high school grade 12 students from across British Columbia whose sponsoring teachers are active members with the Association of BC Drama Educators.
  • A select committee from the ABCDE will work together with VFS in awarding these scholarships and will select final winners personally.
  • Winners will be announced in April 2019.
  • Scholarships are only open to BC residents and each applicant will provide an audition and application for consideration and review by the ABCDE and VFS.
  • Winners will be selected based on creative potential and any obstacles they’ve had to overcome prior to applying.
