INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE: VFS faculty and alumni discuss 'Making a Career in Entertainment Production'

By VFS, on March 18, 2024

At Vancouver Film School, we love gathering creative minds to discuss, dissect, and celebrate all sectors of the creative industries. We’ve previously hosted Digital Design Conferences (DDC), The Launch Event (for Game Designers), and Actor’s Expo; now, we look forward to our upcoming Industry Roundtable on Making a Career in Entertainment Production.

Tom Fedechko, Head of VFS’s Foundation program, will be joined by an esteemed panel of industry guests, including 3D Animation & Visual Effects alum & VFX Compositor Anna Swope, Game Design alum & UX/UI Designer Alexey Kolosov, and Film Production alum Agustin Little. What do Anna, Alexey, and Agustin have in common? They all started their VFS journey with our Foundation Visual Art & Design Preparatory program!

This in-person roundtable is being held in tandem with our upcoming Foundation All Access Pass event in Vancouver on March 23 (more on that below!).

VFS’s Tom Fedechko will gather industry veterans Anna Swope, Alexey Kolosov, and Agustin Little to discuss building successful careers in entertainment.

This eclectic panel features some of the brightest talent across the creative industries. Tom Fedechko is an experienced Writer and Performer with over 20 years of experience empowering artists to be fearlessly creative in their careers. Anna Swope, a VFX Compositor who’s worked for studios like DNEG, IGG, and Image Engine, is credited on high-profile film & TV projects including The Last of Us and Dune: Part Two. Alexey Kolosov, a UX/UI Designer who’s worked for Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and currently for Electric Square, is credited on AAA games including Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR and the Gears of War franchise. Finally, Agustin Little works as a Gaffer in Vancouver’s film & television industry, on such titles as A Big Fat Family Christmas and Moonfall.

This roundtable is your opportunity to receive exclusive career & industry tips from industry veterans and learn about The Foundation Advantage: how VFS’s Foundation program is a launchpad for aspiring creatives into an Advanced Production program at VFS and ultimately their dream industry career.

VFS All Access Pass is your exclusive backstage access to our industry-leading programs and a glimpse into your future career.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: How do I get in on this roundtable?! Or perhaps you’re an aspiring artist looking to explore how your imagination could turn into a career. If you’re interested in training for the $985 billion global creative economy, VFS is hosting All Access Pass on March 23 in Vancouver. This event is your exclusive backstage access to VFS’s Foundation Visual Art & Design program.

In addition to the roundtable, you’ll meet & chat with faculty, take part in fun demos in drawing for animation, on-set film production, & character design, view a student art exhibition to see what you could achieve at VFS, be entered into a draw for a FREE ‘Intro to Film, Animation & Design’ Summer Intensives workshop, and more.
