Michael Chase

Production Manager

Michael has been part of the VFS Acting team for nine years. He has produced hundreds of shorts for VFS Acting, Writing and Makeup and co-developed all the shoot-based courses in those programs. He oversees every aspect of production in the Acting department, from first draft to screening. With an emphasis on independent location shooting, Michael makes sure the Acting student receives a current and comprehensive education in modern film and television styles.

Michael produced the feature film Exley, starring Shane Twerdun and directed by Larry Kent, as well as the short film Dawna, which he also directed.

As an actor, Mr. Chase has appeared in several TV episodes and MOWs, including Stargate: SG1, Andromeda, Flash Gordon, The L Word and Destination: Infestation, to name a few.

Michael is currently mixing his second album of original songs and continues to license to the film and TV industry. His songs can be heard in the series Queer as Folk, Higher Ground and the Canadian indie feature Suspicious River starring Molly Parker. He also co-wrote the title track for the award-winning Canadian feature Everyone, written and directed by Acting Head of Department Bill Marchant and starring Matt Fentiman, Mark Hildreth, and Brendan Fletcher.
