VFS’s Info Session Tour is back this spring, including our Live Auditions. Aspiring actors can book an audition with our industry Acting faculty to fast-track their entry to VFS. Successful auditions will automatically meet the portfolio prerequisites for the following one-year creative programs: Acting for Film & Television and Acting Essentials.
**Please note this event is for ages 17+.
**Registrations must be COMPLETED 3 DAYS PRIOR to your audition date
To prepare for your audition, you must select and learn:
- One monologue of your choice
- One scene from the options found HERE
**Please note: Each selected piece can be no longer than ONE minute each.

What to prepare for your audition:
- You must select and learn one monologue of your choice AND one scene from the options found HERE.
- You must submit a copy of the scene and monologue in advance for the audition reader to use.
- Submit an actor resume, if you have one.
- We will share more information with you on how to do this, once you have registered.
What to expect on audition day:
- It is an on-camera audition, in front of a panel.
- There will be a waiting room; please allow for a wait time up to 15 minutes.
- You will be asked to present your two contrasting pieces (one monologue and one scene; not more than one minute each).
- We will have a reader off-camera to be your scene partner.
- Be ready to share and talk about your experiences as an actor or bring your creative resume.

1. Who can attend VFS’s Live Auditions?
Live Auditions are open to aspiring actors ages 17 and older who want to apply to VFS’s one-year Acting for Film & Television or Acting Essentials programs.
2. Do I need prior acting experience to audition?
No. Whether you’re new to acting or have experience, you can audition. Successful auditions will meet portfolio prerequisites for VFS’s Acting programs.
3. What should I prepare for my audition?
You must prepare one monologue of your choice and one scene from the options provided by VFS (both under one minute). You’ll also be asked to submit a copy of your selected pieces and, if available, your actor résumé.
4. What happens during the audition?
Auditions are on-camera, in front of a panel. You’ll perform your monologue and scene with a reader provided by VFS, then have the chance to discuss your creative background and passion for acting.
5. How do I register for a Live Audition?
Simply choose your city and date from the tour schedule and complete your registration online at least 3 days before your audition.
