Vancouver Film School graduates can continue their creative education internationally through an established progression pathway with BIMM Group (BIMM University and MetFilm School). This pathway allows eligible VFS graduates to apply for advanced entry into select undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in the UK and Europe.

What is the VFS-BIMM/MetFilm School Pathway?

Through this pathway, VFS diploma graduates may be considered for advanced entry into select undergrad/postgrad programs in the UK and Europe, depending on their academic background, portfolio, and program availability.
 
Pathway Degrees 
  • BA (Hons) Game Design and Development
  • BA (Hons) Games Art and Technology
  • Advanced entry is typically into Year 3 (Level 6), subject to portfolio review and/or interview
  • Eligible VFS programs: Game Design | Programming for Games, Web & Mobile | Writing for Film, Television & Games | VR/AR Design & Development
 
Pathway Degrees 
  • BA (Hons) Filmmaking
  • Advanced entry subject to portfolio review, interview, and academic suitability
  • Eligible VFS programs: Film Production | Writing for Film, Television & Games
 
Pathway Degrees 
  • BA (Hons) Music Production
  • BA (Hons) Music and Sound Production
  • Entry may be into Year 2 (Level 5), depending on academic alignment.
  • Eligible VFS programs: Sound Design for Visual Media
 
Pathway Degrees 
  • Level 7 (Master’s) degrees at BIMM or MetFilm
  • Admission subject to application review, portfolio (where applicable), and interview.
  • Eligible VFS programs: Film Production | Writing for Film, Television & Games

Yes. Many undergraduate programs accept VFS diploma graduates for advanced entry without requiring a prior degree. However, postgraduate (Master’s) programs require an undergraduate degree in addition to a relevant VFS diploma.

Tuition fees vary by program, level, and campus. Approximate annual ranges:
  • Undergraduate programs: GBP £15,000 – £18,000 per year
  • Postgraduate programs: GBP £17,000 – £20,000 per year
  • *Fees are paid directly to BIMM University and are subject to annual review.

BIMM University does not typically charge an application fee. Applicants are encouraged to confirm this at the time of application.

Yes. Vancouver Film School alumni who have completed eligible diploma programs may apply through the pathway, subject to academic review and program availability.

Once your application is reviewed and approved, BIMM University will issue an official offer or acceptance letter directly to you.

Yes. Conditional offers may be issued if you are:
  • Completing your VFS diploma
  • Awaiting final transcripts
  • Completing English language requirements

Yes. Programs have limited capacity, and some fill quickly. Early application is strongly recommended.

Class sizes vary by program but are generally small to medium, supporting personalized instruction and hands-on learning.

International students in the UK are typically allowed to:
  • Work up to 20 hours per week during term
  • Work full-time during scheduled breaks
  • Work rights are governed by UK visa regulations

Graduates of eligible UK programs may qualify for the UK Graduate Route visa, allowing them to work in the UK after completing their studies. Eligibility depends on visa regulations in effect at the time of graduation.

BIMM does not provide on-campus housing but offers:
