(VANCOUVER, B.C.) August 26, 2024 – Vancouver Film School is pleased to announce that it has once again been featured on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2024 list of 15 Best Global Film Schools. This is the third year that VFS has been featured; VFS previously appeared on the 2020 and 2021 lists. Additionally, VFS is one of only two Canadian schools to be named for 2024. In their review, The Hollywood Reporter highlighted VFS’s new Virtual Art Department Content Creation program and its industry collaboration with GM Global Design.

For over a decade, The Hollywood Reporter has curated an annual list of the top film schools from around the globe, highlighting institutions that excel in training the next generation of industry filmmakers and storytellers. These rankings serve as a guide for aspiring creatives by showcasing schools with the most innovative education and training models.

Other institutions listed alongside VFS include Beijing Film Academy, France’s La Fémis, the U.K.’s National Film and Television School, London Film School, New Zealand’s Victoria University of Wellington, and Toronto Film School.

Vancouver Film School is honoured to be recognized by The Hollywood Reporter for the third year. This achievement could not be possible without the hard work of our faculty and staff, and the incredible talent of our students, but is also a result of our commitment to evolving alongside the industry. Creating new certificate programs like our Virtual Art Department Content Creation program and forming strong partnerships with industry leaders like Maximum Effort are just two examples of how VFS has a keen awareness of what’s going on around us. Our ability to quickly adapt to the ever-changing creative industries is what continues to make us a leader in post-secondary entertainment arts training.”- Omari Newton – Co-Head of Film Production, VFS
