Vancouver Film School named Top Canadian and Top International Animation Training Program by Animation Career Review

VFS has topped ACR’s prestigious Canadian and International lists for the past five years and three years, respectively.

Announcement Highlights:

  • Vancouver Film School secures the #1 spot on both the Canadian and International lists for top animation training program, the fifth consecutive year the institution has appeared at the top of the Canadian list and the third consecutive year at the top of the International list.
  • Other schools named alongside VFS include Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, England’s National Film and Television School, South Africa’s The Animation School, Think Tank Training Centre, and Capilano University.
  • 195 schools were in the running for the 2021 lists.
  • A variety of factors are considered by ACR in their rankings, including ‘academic reputation’ and ‘employment data’.

(VANCOUVER, B.C.) June 16, 2021 – Vancouver Film School is proud to announce it has been named both the Top Canadian Animation Training Program and Top International Animation Training Program by publication Animation Career Review, making it the fifth consecutive year that VFS has appeared at the top of the Canadian list and the third consecutive year at the top of the International list.

Other schools named alongside VFS on the Canadian list include Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, Seneca College, Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, and Capilano University. Other schools on the international list include National Film and Television School (England), The One Academy (Malaysia), New3dge (France), and Barcelona 3D & Film School. Animation Career Review, which began publishing in 2012, started its regional and national rankings as a response to the high-volume of animators and game designers seeking out top-tier schools around the globe. Every degree-granting school is considered (with the exception of two-year community colleges), and their end goal is to provide students and parents with access to the information necessary to make an informed decision about post-secondary education. The publication’s criteria consists of a variety of factors including ‘academic reputation’, ‘depth and breadth of the program faculty’, ‘graduation rate’ and ‘employment data’. 195 schools were considered for the 2021 list.
