The 2021 Kevin Smith Ambassador Scholarship

Vancouver Film School to award up to $500,000 in scholarships, in honour of Creative Ambassador & VFS alum Kevin Smith.

What It's All About

In 2020, writer, producer, director & force of nature Kevin Smith became VFS’s first Creative Ambassador, a role that included an in-person Storyteller’s Studio AMA event in September 2021 “Just F#@king Create”. As his final act as Creative Ambassador, Kevin along with VFS presents a scholarship that will provide creative individuals with the opportunity to study full-time at Vancouver Film School in 2022/23.

Known for brilliant stories, intricate characters, and incisive dialogue, Kevin Smith’s work spans two decades of pop culture. His unique love of different media streams – from classic film to comic books – has given him the inspiration to create an incredibly wide range of material. From the inception of his career with Clerks to his critically acclaimed runs on Daredevil and Green Arrow, to his He-Man reboot on Netflix, his work has challenged the status quo and championed the role of the independent artist.
