- One (1) full-tuition scholarship (100%) will be offered for each of the following VFS programs:

- Two (2) partial-tuition scholarships (50%) for each of the following VFS programs:
- 3D Animation & Visual Effects
- Classical Animation
- Animation Concept Art
- Programming for Games, Web & Mobile
- Digital Design
- Game Design
- Film Production
- Sound Design for Visual Media
- VR/AR Design & Development
- A valid passport that expires no earlier than 180 days from completion date of your program.
- You must be enrolled at Tecnológico de Monterrey and meet the English proficiency requirements to study abroad:
- English proficiency
- TOEFL score of 550 (213 Computer-Based Test)
- TOEIC score of 785
- IELTS Band 6.5
- FCE Cambridge "First Certificate in English" Level B2.
- Duolingo English test score of 120 or higher.
- Academic record (“tarjeta plan”) in PDF format
- Your academic status at Tecnológico de Monterrey must be in good standing and you may not have any disciplinary reports on your permanent record.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Scholarship winners must pay $150 CAD application fee if they accept the scholarship.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These requirements are mandatory, without exception. All documents (except transcript and ID) must be in English and total files cannot exceed 10MB.
- The deadline to apply is September 6, 2024. Late submissions or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- If you are in your 3rd, 4th or 5th semester at Tecnológico de Monterrey, this scholarship is only applicable to VFS programs starting January 6 or June 30, 2025 (or January 5, 2026 for VR/AR program). NOTE: Students from these semesters must go to Programas Internacionales on their own campus to pre-register.
- If you are in your 6th, 7th, or 8th semester at Tecnológico de Monterrey, this scholarship can be applied to VFS programs starting January 6, March 3, May 5, June 30, September 2, or October 27, 2025 (or January 5, 2026 for VR/AR program). NOTE: Students in these semesters will come as EXATEC and will not need to register at Programas Internacionales on their own campus.
- If selected, the student must complete an online application and have their creative portfolio approved, as outlined in the individual program’s application requirements.
- If selected, the student must cover their flight, accommodation, meals and international insurance (assess approximate cost of living in Canada).
- Students must cover the Tecnológico de Monterrey accreditation fee.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete the international registration, according to the guidelines of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
- Individuals who have applied for any VFS scholarship in the last two years are not eligible to reapply.
- Each applicant must send a link to a video, in English, with a maximum length of 60 seconds. The video must be posted on YouTube or Vimeo and be accessible via direct link:
- Begin by stating your name, the Tecnológico de Monterrey program you're currently enrolled in, and your VFS program of interest.
- Give a brief statement explaining why you want to apply to the 2024 Tecnológico de Monterrey Scholarship and how receiving the scholarship would benefit your career.
- Briefly display and summarize your strongest creative project; in the case of team projects, please specify your role either verbally or through subtitles.

- The selection of winners will be held by a joint committee composed by industry professionals and Vancouver Film School.
- Winners will be notified on September 23, 2024.
- The committee decision is definite and final.
Vancouver Film School reserves the right to cancel this competition at any time, at its sole discretion, in the event of any administrative conflict or error, or if there are 29 participants or less applying for each full-tuition scholarship.. Vancouver Film School reserves the right to modify the rules of this contest in any way or at any time as long as reasonable notice is given. This competition is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial, State, and local laws and regulations.
Acceptance of a scholarship allows Vancouver Film School to use your name, photograph or likeness and testimonials in print, broadcast or online media in perpetuity, in any manner in which VFS may deem appropriate in connection with promoting this competition or any other competition or promotion sponsored by VFS, without further compensation.
By participating in this competition, you agree that Vancouver Film School, members of the Selection Committee and those involved in the development, production, implementation and distribution of this competition and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, and agencies and their directors, officers, agents, employees, attorneys, and any other person or entity associated with such entities and/or this compassion (hereafter collectively called the “Sponsors”) are not liable for any claims, damages, losses or injuries, including third party claims, arising from or relating to, in whole or in part, this competition, including your entry and participation in this competition, the submission of your application package, the evaluation of your application package, acceptance, use or misuse of the scholarship or any injury to you or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from downloading or receiving via return e-mail any part of this competition information.
You further agree that you will not hold Vancouver Film School, their affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, agents, employees, attorneys, and any other person or entity associated with Vancouver Film School liable for any claims, losses, damages or injuries, arising from or relating to their use of your name or address for mailing and any other promotional materials. You also agree that in the event of any third-party claims, damages, losses or injuries arising from or relating to this competition, you will indemnify Sponsors from any and all such claims, including the attorney’s fees related thereto. Sponsors shall not be liable for applications that are delayed, lost, misdirected, mis-delivered, marked postage-due, illegible, mutilated, incorrect or incomplete and such entries will not be eligible for this competition.
This scholarship has no cash value.
