Inside the Microdrama is a two-day, hands-on workshop event for writers, actors, and directors to collaborate on the first episode of a microdrama (for portfolio purposes only). Whether you're looking to sharpen your creative skills, explore this rapidly growing medium, or simply learn how professional productions come together, this is your chance to gain unparalleled knowledge for your career. WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE BOOTCAMP
Unlike traditional seminars, this bootcamp is built around hands-on collaboration. The weekend begins with an Industry Panel exploring every stage of the microdrama pipeline – from casting and performance to writing, directing, and production. Participants will then split into workshops based on their chosen discipline.
Actors will receive one-on-one coaching and audition for roles in the production, while writers will write and pitch their own interpretations of the scene and directors will pitch for the opportunity to serve as assistant director on production day. One script, one AD, and select actors will be chosen.
The second day brings everything together as attendees produce the opening episode of the original microdrama. Even participants who aren't selected for featured roles will gain valuable experience by observing and assisting throughout production.
Following the event, the completed project will be edited and released on YouTube, giving participants the opportunity to revisit and share the final result.
