Emily Bett Rickards Partners with Vancouver Film School, Offering Scholarships up to $250,000

Announcement Highlights:

  • More than $250K in scholarships will be available for aspiring acting applicants to attend VFS in 2019
  • Emily Bett Rickards will personally select the applicants to be awarded 1 Full-Tuition scholarship to the 12-month Acting for Film & Television program, 1 Full-Tuition scholarship to the 4-month Acting Essentials program, and additional funding up to $250K in partial scholarships to runner-up applicants.
  • Scholarship applications are open to anyone worldwide age 17 and above, beginning March 7, 2019 and ending at 11:59am (PST) April 14, 2019.

(Vancouver, BC) February 1, 2019 - Vancouver Film School (VFS) is proud to announce up to $250,000 in new scholarships will be awarded in March of 2019 by acclaimed Canadian actor Emily Bett Rickards, who will vet applications from prospective students for the Acting Essentials and Acting for Film & Television programs.

Since 2012, Emily Bett Rickards’ portrayal of Felicity Smoak in the DC television universe has made her a household name, working on Arrow, The Flash, Vixen, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. Celebrated for her work on-camera she has also built a reputation as a community-minded mentor, taking time to meet and talk with avid supporters, offering guidance for new actors, and participating in discussion with many looking to enter the film & television industries. As such, Emily stands out as the right partner for these new acting program scholarships and as a guide for aspiring actors at Vancouver Film School.
