(VANCOUVER, B.C.) April 11, 2024 – In October, Vancouver Film School (VFS) has partnered with Pixomondo (PXO) to provide a new certificate program for VFS students. Virtual Art Department Content Creation is a 12-week course, developed by Pixomondo and offered exclusively online through Seneca Polytechnic, to teach artists the fundamentals of content creation for virtual production.

This new means of production, which allows studios to create immersive experiences in real-time, emerged during the pandemic, expanding the possibilities for the media & entertainment industries to continue operating during this challenging time. The effectiveness of virtual production has allowed it to remain a current and relevant means of production in the industry and a valuable skill for all creatives to have in their toolbelt.

As with all VFS curriculum, the certificate program will be taught by industry professionals with direct experience in virtual production. By the end of the course, students will have developed the skillset necessary to pursue a career as a VAD Technical Artist, VAD Generalist, UE Technical Artist, VAD Concept Artist, UE Generalist, or UE Lighter.

Owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Pixomondo is an Academy and Emmy award-winning virtual production and visual effects company with studios in Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, and London. As trailblazers within their field, they hold the record for the largest virtual production stage in the world. Their work can be seen in Hugo, Game of Thrones, The Boys, House of the Dragon, Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, and more.

“Vancouver Film School is thrilled to be partnering with Pixomondo.
