Best Practices and Tips:
- Find contrasting material/scripts.
- Look for a strong range in emotion/characters - for example, one comedy and one drama.
- Find characters who are age appropriate (in a castable range).
- Memorize and rehearse the monologue and scene (two-person scenes are best)
- Make the characters your own. Don’t recreate other actors’ performances.
- Remember, the monologue and scene should be no more than one minute each.
