VFS Grads Don't Pick Sides

The word is out on Captain America: Civil War and it’s good – real good.

Captain America may have already opened internationally, but fans in North America haven’t lost their enthusiasm for today’s premiere. And who can blame them? It’s a big ol’ mash up of powers and personalities – all culminating to an epic throw down that sees Ironman pinned against Steverino.

The film’s clever social media marketing campaign asked audiences to pick a side – Tony Stark or Steve Rogers. For us, it’s a simple choice. We’re on whatever side Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) is on. Yes, one of the most exciting forces in the film, and making his theatrical debut, is T’Challa – ruler of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. Judging by the trailer, he looks pretty badass. Judging by the reviews, he is pretty badass. Also making cameos are Spiderman, played by fresh-faced Tom Holland, and Ant-Man, reuniting us with the totally loveable Paul Rudd.

A superhero movie wouldn’t be the same without slick special effects and sound, and we know some people responsible! Congratulations to the Vancouver Film School grads from 3D Animation + Visual Effects and Sound Design for Visual Media who worked on the film. They are:

Werner ten Hoeve (Compositor)
Ziad Shureih (Digital Compositor)
Diego Piccinato (Digital Compositor)
James Mcphail (Fx Td)
Jason McKeeman (Lead Creature Technical Director)
Patrick Nanton (Lighting Technical Director)
Alvaro Gasco Jaraquemada (Modeling)
Christine Peterson (Senior Compositor)
Angelei Hansen (Sound Designer)
Jeremy Bowker (Sound Effects Editor)
Jamie Bowers (Visual Effects Artist)

Watch, and hear, their amazing work in the trailer below!

So. Awesome. Go out and see it!
