Come and try it out in this series of weekend workshops. Take one or take them all.

$300 general public
$250 for VFS alumni/VRARA and Launch Academy members

2-day course, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch

Who are these workshops for?

Industry professionals and recent graduates looking to expand their learning in relation to Virtual and Augmented Reality applications. This workshop series is especially designed to prepare you for further studies in VFS’ 8-month VR/AR Design & Development program.

Introduction to Augmented Reality (AR) Development in Unity

In this weekend workshop you’ll explore the area of Augmented Reality (AR) within the Unity game engine environment. You’ll be able to understand basic workflow and design considerations as they pertain to AR within the Unity game engine.

Learning Outcomes – Participants will:

  • Understand the basic principles of AR application development for mobile applications.
  • Be able to take a basic scene setup, and export from Unity to a mobile device.

Introduction to Virtual Reality (VR) Development in Unity

In this weekend workshop you’ll explore the area of Virtual Reality (VR) within the Unity game engine environment. You’ll be able to understand basic workflow and design considerations as they pertain to VR and implementation within the Unity game engine environment.

Learning Outcomes – Participants will:

  • Understand the basic principles of VR application development for OculusGO using Unity.
  • Understand the process of taking a basic scene setup, and exporting from Unity to the OculusGO platform.

Michael Neely

Michael is a highly versatile and experienced designer whose work not only includes licensed product designs for pro sports manufacturers, but also 15 years and nearly 30 projects in VFX shot design and visualization for some of the biggest names in the industry (Paramount, Twenty-Frist Century Fox, Digital Domain and MPC).

He is an experienced leader in multiple disciplines with an eye for developing solutions for film, game development and mixed media distribution. His entrepreneurial efforts and passion for emerging technology have founded numerous industry corporations, including MindGear Studios Inc. which focusses on VR/AR development and visualization, Cave Art Studios Inc, and Blind Squirrel Digital Inc.
